The School Day
The timings of the school day are as follows:
8.35 – Doors open to all
8:45 - Start of school day
8:55 - Exterior gates closed
8.55 – Assembly for Key Stage One and Key Stage Two
9:15 - Lessons Begin
10:15 – Key Stage One and Two Breaktime
11:30 – Lunch for Nursery and Reception
12:00 – Lunch for Year One, Year Two, Year Three and Year Four
12:15 – Lunch for Year Five and Six, Nursery and Reception afternoon starts
12:45 – Year One, Year Two, Year Three and Year Four afternoon starts
13.00 – Year Five and Six afternoon starts
14.00 – Afternoon break Key Stage Two
14.45 – Exterior gates open
15:05 – End of School day
The school doors open at 8.35 and children have 10 minutes to settle into class and have free toast. The school day starts for all pupils at 8:45, and finishes at 15.05 for all classes except Nursery which finishes at 14.45.
Every day starts with an assembly for the children in Key Stages One and Two. The children then will have four or five lessons throughout the day. Morning lessons will include Literacy and Numeracy, Guided Reading and Phonics. Afternoon lessons include science and investigation, humanities, personal, social and health education, the arts and physical education.
All children have 45 minutes for lunch. Your child may have a school dinner or bring a packed lunch. All the children have a fifteen minute break in the morning and may bring in healthy snacks to eat at this time. The younger children also have a break in the afternoon. All Children can be collected from their classroom doors, children in Year Five and Six are able to walk home with parent/carers permission.
Fruit is available to buy for Key Stage Two children during morning break.
School meals are priced at £2.35 per day/£11.75per week for children in Key Stage 2, Nursery children have to pay £1.95 per day/£9.75 per week. Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals.
