What have Y6 been upto....
Written By Hollie
In year 6, we have been doing lots of incredible work. Everyone in this year group has worked extremely hard. All the staff, are proud of how presentable their work was.
In maths, we have been figuring out how to do fraction of percentages, for example; three quarters of 40%.
We have not been doing any English, because we are focusing on maths and grammar for their SATS (which is next week). They have also been going through the mean of numbers. Next, they have been doing conversions of weight and distance by comparing the metric system to the imperial system. Just to let you people know SATS starts on Monday 13th May 2019. We advise you to remind your child to revise EVERY DAY during SATS week. In addition, we have been working on estimating and working out angles. The angles we have been working on are: Acute, Obtuse, Right, and Reflex. In our work, we have been using the CGP revision question books standard and advanced to help us. Recently, we have been doing perimeters of shapes.
In grammar, we have mainly been learning about joining main and subordinate clauses together to help get our busy minds ready to work hard and revise. Very recently, we have just started learning about different tenses such as past tense, present tense, present perfect tense and many others. The teachers in Year 6, put daily maths and grammar on the board to help us remember all the knowledge for the important tests.
Many Thanks to all who read this blog and Good Luck to all of Year 6 in their SAT’s.
